When you're in the business of managing forklifts and powering productivity, every charging decision matters. In my years running the Warehouse Buyers Club and helping countless facilities streamline their forklift fleets, one brand consistently stands out from the crowd: Enersys, specifically their Impaq and Impaq+ chargers.

These aren't just chargers — they're strategic tools that can transform the way your warehouse operates.

What Sets Enersys Impaq and Impaq+ Apart?

The Impaq and Impaq+ chargers from Enersys offer a level of intelligence, flexibility, and reliability that many competing chargers simply can’t match. Here's what makes them a game changer:

  • Multi-Voltage Support
Unlike many traditional chargers, the Impaq line can handle 24V, 36V, and 48V batteries — often with just the flip of a switch or a firmware configuration. This makes them ideal for mixed fleets or operations that are growing and evolving.

  • Efficiency That Saves Money
These chargers use high-frequency technology to provide more efficient charging with lower heat generation. That not only saves on energy bills but also extends battery life — which is a huge win for long-term cost control.

  • Modular Design and Compact Footprint
The Impaq+ features modular, stackable architecture, which saves valuable space on your warehouse floor and makes servicing easier. This design flexibility is a big plus for crowded or high-density facilities.

  • Smart Charging with Safety in Mind
Integrated WIIQ battery monitoring ensures your batteries are charged properly, avoiding dangerous overcharging that can shorten lifespan or pose safety hazards. More on that below.

One Charger, Multiple Forklifts: Pros and Cons

We get this question all the time:
"Can I use one charger for multiple forklifts?"
With Impaq chargers, the answer is often yes — but with a few smart precautions.

Benefits:

  • Lower upfront costs by reducing the total number of chargers.

  • Smaller footprint in the charging area.

  • Greater flexibility to handle multiple truck types and battery voltages.

Concerns:

  • You’ll need to rotate battery usage smartly so that no battery is over- or under-utilized.

  • Not all batteries charge at the same speed. Scheduling and monitoring become more important.

  • Without proper monitoring, you risk “cooking” your batteries — leading to premature failure.

How to Handle Multiple Voltages with One Charger

If you’re running a mixed fleet (say, 24V pallet jacks and 36V sit-down forklifts), Enersys Impaq chargers let you adapt using voltage-specific tails or connectors. Here's how:

  • Use a tail or adapter cable that’s configured to the battery’s voltage.

  • These adapters “signal” the charger to switch to the correct voltage program.

  • Make sure each battery has a properly labeled and installed voltage tag or chip for seamless use.

This setup keeps things safe, efficient, and straightforward, even when juggling different equipment types.

Protect Your Investment: Why WIIQ Battery Monitoring is Essential

The smartest piece of this whole system? Battery monitoring.

Enersys offers a compact, rugged device called the WIIQ that acts as a battery monitor and usage logger. Here’s why it’s so important:

  • Prevents overcharging, which leads to reduced battery life or dangerous overheating.

  • Ensures that batteries are getting equal rotation and charge cycles.

  • Provides usage data and charge reports, helping you optimize fleet performance.

Without this level of insight, you're essentially running blind — and that’s when batteries get cooked, costs climb, and performance suffers.

The Bottom Line

At the Warehouse Buyers Club, we only recommend what we believe in. And when it comes to high-efficiency, smart, and flexible forklift charging, Enersys Impaq and Impaq+ chargers deliver.

If you're running a warehouse with multiple trucks per charger, mixed voltages, or you're just ready to upgrade to next-generation charging, this is the move.

Have questions about how to adapt your current setup or how to source the right charger? That’s what we’re here for. Send our team a message — we’ll spec your whole fleet and make sure you never overpay for power again.

Stay charged,

What is Lorem Ipsum? Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry's standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum. Why do we use it? It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using 'Content here, content here', making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for 'lorem ipsum' will uncover many web sites still in their infancy. Various versions have evolved over the years, sometimes by accident, sometimes on purpose (injected humour and the like).
